with Lolo Halman and Sara Eden Gally
October 27th, 10am-2pm at Wild Hearts Wellness, 4230 NE Fremont Street, Portland

Are you interested in building skills to move through conflict more fluidly with your partner?

In times of conflict, do you and your partner:

repeat the same conversations?

reach temporary resolution that doesn't last?

feel adversarial rather than collaborative?

If any of these resonate for you, this lab will help you and your partner to:

break out of cyclical conflict and find more satisfying resolution

connect more deeply through times of conflict

build a greater sense of ‘we’ as a team

Join Lolo Halman (Dipl. PW) and Sara Eden Gally (AMFT) to learn body-based communication methods to transform conflict with your partner. This ‘lab’ is a space to practice with your partner using the tools introduced and to get coaching from skilled conflict facilitators while doing so.

What to expect in the workshop:
- practice embodied exercises to build a greater awareness of your inner experiences when most activated
- learn practical tools for reflecting your partner’s experience from a deeper, more curious place
- witness & learn from a couple being facilitated through conflict by Lolo & Sara Eden
- gain approaches for interrupting cycles of escalation and returning to center
and more!

A Quick Guide to the Tiered Pricing Model
(taken from Worts and Cunning)

While you can look at more thorough info about what a tiered pricing model is and why we use it here, below is a very brief rundown :
The top pricing tier is the base rate of this offering. If you choose a rate below the base rate you are receiving a discount.
The middle pricing tier is for those who are able to meet their basic needs but have little-to-no expendable income. This tier is for whom paying at the base rate would qualify as a sacrifice but not create significant hardship.
The bottom pricing tier is for those who struggle to meet basic needs, and for whom paying at the base rate would create significant hardship.
The Pay-It-Forward price is a few bucks above the base rate of this offering; that extra money goes towards supporting scholarships as well as future free and low-cost offerings. Essentially it's an opportunity to not only take this offering but also support your fellow community members while you're at it. Sweet!

Relationship Coaching

Clients I work with appreciate my balance of compassionate and loving presence with the capacity to firmly interrupt unhelpful patterns and help new ones fall into place. I might be a fit for you if you’re queer, poly/nonmonogamous, a social justice activist, or just a couple/individual looking for deep presence and collaborative support.
I’m great at working with
- Partners interested in learning how to do conflict better

- Non-monogamous couples/triads/polycules working on their relational dynamics - Monogamous couples curious about exploring ethical nonmonogamy (ENM)
- Partners & friends seeking support in facilitating repair around past harms

My approach
In all relationships, communication challenges can lead to either avoidance of conflict, or regular conflict that feels exhausting and brings a sense of hopelessness. My work helps partners discover where communication is getting stuck and how to repair harms and resentments that have built over time.

For monogamous couples exploring non-monogamy, challenges that appear when opening the relationship can cause a painful return to monogamy or even a breakup. I support these couples to form a greater sense of safety, to repair harms caused, and make a plan for the relationship moving forward.
For those in non-monogamous relationship structures, sometimes trust can be unexpectedly wounded when new partners enter the dynamic. In these situations, we identify where communications have broken down, do deeper processing of challenging feelings, and discover ways to repair harm.

What I’m great at working with:
- Support in interpersonal relationships and how to make them more nourishing
- Inner exploration around purpose, vision, and direction

- Deepening around privileged identity and how to live more in integrity with one’s values
- Theatre-makers and movers/dancers looking for ways to bring these expressive methods into their personal exploration

Examples of who I work withSocial change facilitators looking to deepen their personal growth and healing as they hold space for others. I center somatic approaches in this work, supporting awareness-building of the more nuanced experiences inside the body and how they can offer cues for more effective change work in the world.People facing relational struggles, whether with a partner, friend, or family member. In these cases we work together to find deeper patterns that may appear across relationships, and look at how to show up in relationship with greater integrity and inner alignment.
Men seeking to deepen relationship with their feeling experiences, who feel out of touch with the deeper experiences that they witness in others. Together we use nonverbal embodied exercises, emotion identification activities, and more to help build this awareness more fully.

My training
The majority of my training comes from my training at the Process Work Institute (PWI) in Portland, Oregon, where I trained from 2015-2019. Process Work combines Taoist philosophy, Jungian psychology, and somatic awareness in an attempt to follow one’s unfolding process most fully. This can include working with dreams, working with body symptoms, exploring through movement & sounding, working on relational difficulties, and navigating relationship to world issues and phenomena. For a more thorough explanation of Process Work, I recommend checking out Lane Arye’s explanation on his website.Prior to my training at PWI, I trained both formally and informally in the facilitation of transformative processes through a mix of community organizing work, emotional vulnerability training spaces, and mediation training and practice environments.Following my training at PWI, I have explored various methods for working with relationships, with most of my current inspiration coming from Ellyn Bader at The Couples Institute. I’ve completed Level 1 training in their Developmental Model and continue to take part in their advanced training community, from which I derive most of my practice and approach in my current work.

Rates
I provide 60-minute sessions using a tiered pricing model, with a base rate, limited discounted rates, and an abundance rate (see more detailed info below).

Base rate: $150/sessionDiscounted rate 1: $125/sessionDiscounted rate 2: $100/sessionAbundance rate: $200/session

A Quick Guide to the Tiered Pricing Model
(taken from Worts and Cunning)While you can look at more thorough info about what a tiered pricing model is and why I use it here, below is a very brief rundown :The ‘base’ pricing tier is the base rate of sessions. If you choose a rate below the base rate you are receiving a discount.

The first discounted rate is for those who are able to meet their basic needs but have little-to-no expendable income. This tier is for whom paying at the base rate would qualify as a sacrifice but not create significant hardship.

The second discounted rate is for those who struggle to meet basic needs, and for whom paying at the base rate would create significant hardship.
The abundance rate pricing tier is for those who can both easily afford their daily expenses, and can also save and be months ahead. This rate is often the market rate for coaching services.

Note regarding payment:I only see clients out-of-pocket, and cannot offer superbills.
If you are needing to pay with insurance or an HSA, I can offer referrals to other practitioners that provide these means of payment.
